In 2012 the thematic section «Names» of the journal «OBRAZOVANIE LICHNOSTI» had been devoted to the outstanding scientists, bright, talented people of our time B.Z. Vulfov (№ 2, 2012), D.B. Bogoyavlenskaya, and A.I. Podolskyi (№ 3, 2012).
In the spring of 2012 friends, students, and colleagues of the famous scientist, educator, doctor of pedagogical sciences, and professor Boris Zinovyevich Vulfov celebrated his 80th anniversary, to which, unfortunately, Boris Zinovyevich did not live.
B.Z. Vulfov (1932–2009) is a doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor, and the author of over 100 scientific and methodical works. His books were published in Russia and abroad. Over 50 years of his life Boris Zinovyevich gave to pedagogical science and practice by working at the Moscow State Open Pedagogical University named after M.A. Sholokhov, Moscow State Pedagogical University, and Russian Academy of Education. In recent years Boris Zinovyevich was the professor of Kostroma State University named after N.A. Nekrasov and a leading researcher at the Federal Child Development Research Centre.

July, 2012 is marked by the 80th anniversary of Diana Borisovna Bogoyavlenskaya, doctor of psychology, professor, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Education, chief scientific officer of the Psychological Institute of Russian Academy of Education, and a specialist in the field of general psychology, cognitive psychology, and the psychology of creativity and talent. Over the years Diana Borisovna has been engaged in scientific and educational activities aimed to build the scientific understanding of the nature, methods of detection, and ways of developing of the children's talents.
Since 2002 Diana Borisovna has been cooperating with the Federal Child Development Research Centre. Under her scientific leadership a number of research projects on the issues of giftedness commissioned by the Ministry of Education of Russia has been implemented. The results of these studies are in demand not only in the scientific community, but also among the practitioners who work with gifted children.
Diana Borisovna is a winner of many awards and honors, among which are the President's Award in Education (1999), Honored Worker of Science (2008), Medal of Russian Patriot (2011), Medal named after K.D. Ushinskyi (1998), Winner of the nation-wide competition of scientific and popular literature (1981), Diploma of Russian Academy of Education (1999) , Diploma of the Ministry of Education of Russia (2000) , Diploma of Russian Psychological Society (2002), Winner of the award of the Presidential program «Children of Russia» (2001), Honored Worker of Science of Russian Federation (2003), Excellence in Education (1991), Outstanding Woman (2001), Honorary Research Professor of the Federal Child Development Research Centre (2011).
D.B. Bogoyavlenskaya had prepared 2 doctors and 12 candidates of sciences, had published about 220 scientific papers, and is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals and a head of the editorial board of the journal «Obrazovanie lichnosti».
July, 2012 is also marked by the 65th anniversary of Andrey Iljych Podolsky, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, and the head of the Psychology Department of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. For thirty years Andrei Iljyich has been conducting the large and productive research and teaching work. With his direct participation 17 national and eight international research and scientific projects have been held. He owns about 200 publications (including 11 monographs and textbooks), of which more than 50 are in foreign languages.
For his achievements in the field of scientific and educational activities Andrei Iljyich Podolsky was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education and the Medal named after K.D. Ushinsky. He was also awarded the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of education (1999). A.I. Podolsky is the Honored Professor of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Honorary Doctor of the University of Helsinki, member of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences, and an Honorary Research Professor of the Federal Child Development Research Centre.
Andrei Iljyich is a member of the editorial board of the journals «World of Psychology», «Herald of MSU. Psychology», and «Obrazovanie lichnosti».
